A gold colored metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a brick red disc behind a gold demi-tiger, facing to the left, with black stripes, tail wavy erect, and holding between both paws a gold wheel with eight spokes. Below a gold scroll in three sections inscribed "FIRST, FAST, FINEST" in black letters.
The Bengal Tiger is used to represent the unit's World War II campaign participation credit in Central Burma and India-Burma, and the wheel held between his paws alludes to the unit's ability to supervise and give strong fast support to all types of motor transport. Brick red is a color used by Transportation Battalions.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 21 September 1967.
